Downtown Meriden new Pizzeria & Bookstore now open

Good news folks! 
I was so happy to read in yesterday’s newspaper, the announcement of Friends of the Library Bookstore, 35 West Main St. & Pies Ons Pizzas and Pasta 21 Colony St. is now open.
My brokers and I are so excited, that we’ve been talking about stopping by for a little pizza-luncheon very soon.

Ct. Gov.Jodi Rell opens signup for new basic health insurance, June 30,2008.

Gov. Jodi Rell announced that the state is accepting applications for the new Charter Oak Health Plan-a basic health insurance policy being offered to uninsured adults. The policy will provide basic benefit package, ranging from primary care, for a low premium. Depending on a person’s income, premiums can range from $75 tp $259 a month. [...]

Rent Relief Program for the Elderly & Disabled

     The  Max F.Muravnick Senior Center is now taking applications from Meriden residents for the Rent Relief Program sponsored by the State of Connecticut. This program provides eligible renters with money back on their 2007 rent & utilities, based on their income & expenses.

The Meriden Public Library announces new hours.
Summer hours, July 7 to Aug. 30
      Monday thru Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
     Thursday & Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Saturday & Sunday.
Beginning in September,the Library will be open Monday thru Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 P.M.

       Mayor Mark Benigni will be the celebrity bartender from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday (6/19) at Rosie’s Cafe,
