Ask Mrs. Zita Your Meriden’s Best Real Estate Questions

Ask Mrs. Zita Meriden's Best Real Estate Questions ColumnQuestion: What’s a mortgage “pre-qual” pre-qualification letter?

Answer:

“Pre-qual” = Pre-qualification letter from a mortgage broker or bank.

It’s critical that you conduct this step first before looking for a house, because based on your present financial status the mortgage broker or bank will tell you exactly how much house you can afford to buy.

By doing this first, you prevent anyone; especially yourself (as a buyer), plenty of time, energy and/or emotions.

Remember, home buying or selling is a very emotional process. As your real estate professional I want to assure that the only emotions you feel are pleasurable, happy and memorable; rather than of frustration, anger, anxiety or disappointment.

Is it much better to have a pre-approval letter now a days?
